Farmers to families

What is Farmers to Families?

It's a food box initiative started by the Federal Government. Due to COVID-19, farmers were unable to get their crops to market which would have resulted in a huge financial loss for farmers and as well as crops left to ruin. This program was put in place to provide relief to not only the farmers of America but also to the families in our communities.

When are the Food Distribution dates?

The first date for the food box distribution is Saturday, September 19 from 10a-2p (or until supplies run out) at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.

The second date is Saturday, October 24 from 10a-2p (or until supplies run out) at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.

How many boxes are available?

There will be 1,000 boxes available for distribution on each date.

How can I get food?

It's simple! Just drive through at the fairgrounds and allow one of our volunteers to load a food box in your vehicle. No need to get out of your vehicle, there's nothing to sign, it's just free food available as long as supplies last.

Who is making this happen?

A cooperation of local churches are volunteering for truck unloading, food distribution, and site setup/cleanup.

Sponsoring churches are (in alphabetical order): Cornerstone Church, Hollywood Baptist Church, Kingdom Church International, Life Church, Sherwood Rome, West Rome Baptist Church

Are there other resources for my family other than food?

United Way of Rome is a great start for finding other resources in our community.
